1. Introduction
Welcome to SayMelo ("we," "our," or "us"), an English-learning application operated by DaelVista LLC. This Privacy Policy explains the categories of information SayMelo may process, how that information is used, when it may be shared with service providers, and how to request deletion.
- Legal name: DaelVista LLC
- Address: 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801-6317, United States
- Privacy contact: privacy@saymelo.com
- General support: support@saymelo.com
2. Product and Sign-In Context
Educational content is generally free. Practice requires sign-in. Authenticated Free users receive 3 shared normal Practice sessions per day. Pro is subscription-based through Google Play. Some AI features have separate Free tasting or usage limits. SayMelo does not intentionally show advertising.
3. Information We Process
The exact categories depend on the features you use and the choices you make. Information may be processed to provide a feature without being permanently stored. Where information is stored, it may be shared with service providers acting for the relevant function and retained only as described below or as required by law.
3.1 Account and authentication information
- Account identifiers and authentication records.
- Email address and, where supplied by an authentication method, name or related profile information.
- Information needed to maintain sign-in, account security, and account deletion requests.
3.2 Learning activity, guest use, and progress
- Practice activity, progress, completed content, responses, saved items, mistakes, review information, and preferences.
- When you use SayMelo as a guest, lesson progress, saved items, review cards, slang progress, and mistakes remain in local app storage and are not uploaded to SayMelo's learning database.
- Supabase may create an essential anonymous authentication session so protected services and account upgrade can work. This anonymous session is not a public user profile. When you sign in, supported learning data may begin syncing where that feature is available.
3.3 User-generated content and educational responses
- Text, answers, prompts, or other content you submit to AI-powered learning features.
- AI-generated feedback and other outputs returned to you.
- A short microphone recording and transcript when you choose a pronunciation or speaking feature. A recording can remain local while you record, listen, retry, or decide whether to submit it. Audio is transmitted only after you submit it for speech feedback, and SayMelo does not save the submitted audio file in its application database. Do not submit sensitive personal information.
3.4 Purchases and subscription status
If you purchase or use Pro, SayMelo may receive product, entitlement, purchase, subscription-status, and transaction-related information from Google Play, RevenueCat, and other payment or subscription service providers. RevenueCat manages subscription and purchase-entitlement status for the service. Google Play processes payment-card information; SayMelo does not receive your payment-card details. Google Play displays the applicable price and billing terms in your local currency where available.
3.5 Product analytics and anonymous sessions
SayMelo collects privacy-filtered product analytics for app functionality, product improvement, analytics, and reliability. These may include app opens, onboarding activity, learning-flow and feature/page interactions, content-search events, and other low-cardinality product signals. An opaque app-install identifier and session identifiers may be used for analytics and reliability; these are not physical-device fingerprints, and SayMelo does not use Android Advertising ID for this analytics flow.
Anonymous or guest sessions may send only the limited product events needed for product discovery and learning-flow analytics. Product analytics are designed not to include free-form learner text, speech recordings, transcripts, email addresses, hardware fingerprints, or Advertising ID. Submitted learner prompts, transcripts, and recordings are separate from normal product analytics and are processed only when you choose the applicable AI or speech feature.
3.6 Diagnostics, Sentry, and security information
- App version, operating system, device or installation information, crash information, performance measurements, route or feature identifiers, and categorical error information.
- Device-derived or anti-abuse identifiers, rate-limit information, and security logs where needed to protect the service, enforce access rules, and prevent abuse.
- Sentry receives privacy-filtered crash and performance diagnostics. SayMelo configures diagnostics not to attach screenshots, view hierarchy, request content, learner identity, breadcrumbs, or default personal information.
3.7 Notifications
If you grant notification permission, SayMelo may process notification or device-token information needed to deliver reminders or other optional notifications. You can disable notifications in the app or device settings.
3.8 Content and quality reports
You may report incorrect educational content, inappropriate or harmful AI-generated output, or other quality issues. A report may include structured metadata such as the report domain, content family, content identifier or part, locale, reason, and tool, source, or signature where applicable. Reports may be used for quality improvement, safety, content correction, and abuse prevention.
Reports are designed not to include raw audio, complete private conversations by default, payment data, authentication tokens, advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or an email address solely for the report.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide lessons, Practice, progress features, AI features, and requested educational feedback.
- To authenticate users, synchronize account-associated data where supported, and provide Pro access.
- To process and verify purchases and subscriptions through the relevant payment and subscription systems.
- To maintain security, enforce the Free and Pro access rules, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the service.
- To diagnose crashes and performance problems and improve reliability.
- To evaluate reports and improve educational quality and safety.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to valid requests.
5. AI, Speech Processing, and Service Providers
When you choose an AI or speaking feature, SayMelo sends the minimum information needed for that feature through its service infrastructure. This can include submitted text, a short audio recording, a transcript, an educational prompt, reference text, locale, or feature context. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. AI-generated feedback is educational and may be inaccurate.
SayMelo uses service providers including Supabase for authentication, database, synchronization, and server functions; MyMemory for eligible learning-text translation; RevenueCat for subscription and purchase-entitlement status; and Sentry for privacy-filtered crash and performance diagnostics. Depending on the active server configuration and fallback routing, submitted AI text may be processed by providers such as DeepSeek, Google Vertex AI / Gemini, or OpenRouter-based model services. Submitted speech may be transcribed by OpenAI Whisper or Google Gemini. Provider routing may change without changing the categories of information processed for the requested feature.
SayMelo does not receive payment-card details from Google Play. Rewarded advertising is currently disabled, and no advertising network receives data through an active advertising flow.
6. Data Storage, Sharing, and Retention
Guest learning data stays in local app storage until you clear app data, reset progress, delete it in the app, or uninstall the app, subject to device-backup settings. Signed-in learning and account data remains while needed to provide the service or until you delete the account. Account-associated information and service-operation records may be stored or processed on our servers or by service providers.
Product analytics events are scheduled for deletion after 180 days. De-identified AI cost and reliability logs are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. Device anti-abuse grants and purchase, transaction, accounting, dispute, or legally required records may be retained where necessary; account links are removed from retained anti-abuse and operational records when the account is deleted. Payment platforms may retain transaction records under their own legal obligations.
We distinguish between information processed to provide a request, information stored for account or service operation, and information retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, financial, dispute-resolution, backup, or operational purposes. We do not claim that every item is erased instantly or that every provider deletes information at the same time.
7. Advertising
SayMelo does not intentionally show advertising in the current product model. We do not describe advertising as a feature of Free or Pro access. If this changes, the relevant privacy, product, and store disclosures will be reviewed before the change is released.
8. Account Deletion
You can request deletion through the in-app Delete Account & All Data flow. If you cannot access the app, use the public instructions at /delete-account or contact support@saymelo.com or privacy@saymelo.com so we can verify the request and explain any information needed to process it.
The current deletion flow removes the SayMelo account-associated application records covered by the server-side deletion transaction, including learning progress, Practice and review data, saved items, mistakes, Slang progress, AI-generated application state, report events, account/device bindings, the subscription mirror, and legacy credit tables. It also removes matching RevenueCat purchase-event records and de-links selected operational records such as API-call logs and anonymous device-grant records. Local device data remains until the app confirms server deletion and then clears it, or until you reset or uninstall the app.
Google Play, RevenueCat, AI and speech-processing providers, diagnostics providers, and other third parties are not all controlled by this in-app flow. Their records may be retained, deleted, or de-linked under their own policies and applicable law. Limited SayMelo operational, security, financial, or legal records may also be retained as described in Section 6.
Deleting your SayMelo account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription separately in Google Play. Cancellation normally preserves access until the end of the paid or trial period.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- You may choose whether to sign in, submit text or audio to an AI feature, or grant notification permission, subject to the access requirements for the feature.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of account-associated information by contacting privacy@saymelo.com.
- You may manage or cancel Google Play subscriptions through Google Play. Account deletion does not perform that action for you.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data-protection law, including rights to object to or restrict certain processing and to complain to a supervisory authority.
10. International Processing
DaelVista LLC is based in the United States. SayMelo and its service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. We use applicable contractual, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the processing and the law that applies to you.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The Last Updated date identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
