Is SayMelo for beginners?
No, and that is deliberate. It is built for learners who already have grammar and vocabulary but freeze in conversation, miss what natives really mean, or sound translated. Starting from zero, another app will serve you better.
What exactly is free?
All 4,500 situations, all 8 Slang Hub themes, the Mistake Notebook, the Review Box and Insights — unlimited, forever, with no advertising. Plus 2 practice rounds every day on the four offline tools.
Why do the AI tools cost Credits?
Because every AI answer has a real per-request cost. Charging for that directly is the alternative to selling your attention to an advertiser or your data to anyone. There is no advertising in the app at all.
Do I need an account?
Not for the lessons — they work straight away, offline, with no sign-in. You do need one for Credits, AI tools and Pro, because those are enforced on our server, and signing in is also what makes your progress and balance survive a reinstall.
Does it work offline?
The situations, the Slang Hub and the four practice tools work with no connection. The AI tools need one, because the model does not live on your phone.
Is my voice recorded or stored?
A short clip is captured on your device only when you press record, sent through our server to OpenAI Whisper for transcription, and discarded as soon as the response comes back. We never store the audio, and never store the transcript.
How do I cancel Pro?
In Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the renewal; Credits already granted stay in your balance. Deleting your SayMelo account does not cancel the subscription — do that in Google Play too.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Delete Account & All Data, and everything on our servers goes immediately. Full instructions, including what to do if you cannot open the app, are on the account deletion page.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not today. SayMelo is Android-only for now.
